We always talk about the Gathering, and I've seen the work this community has done when they band together for charity events. On the information/education front, could use deck techs or gameplay pods with decks themed around relevant topics as an on-ramp to discussions. I've got my student food insecurity deck, but I could see folks doing veteran's healthcare, trans rights, voting rights, protesting, etc.

I'd like more people to mask up at events. I was already seeing posts about con crud from Chicago.

It bums me out to see so many posts by people that care about the vulnerable among us, and then not seeing the evidence of it in practice.

I don’t think it has to be a huge thing. The idea is finding ways to create groups to inform them and enable political action is stronger and more sustainable than trying to make a perfect and huge resistance.

I think it hits on the thread that @chriskmooney.bsky.social had yesterday about seeing the information/horrors for me. If not huge, how to move to action.

I have obviously focused on federal employment/veterans with most of what I share so I am thinking of how to do that in helpful way

Raising awareness (and money) for the organizations that many magic creators do is political activism. It's helping those who aren't helped by their government, by their elected officials. Perhaps maybe get chris kluwe on more podcasts, get him in front of more people, he's most public right now

Its funny this is coming up considering I had thought for a bit we are an incredibly diverse community, well-organized in places and share similar beliefs.
