so special ed programs are getting gutted because their internal documentation used the term "transition" when talking about helping disabled kids enter the working world. they're literally striking at that word wherever they see it.

It's not a smokescreen though, they know we're a vulnerable population that people won't defend and so they attack us so they can chip away at the rights of various targets that are less politically viable. We're not a distraction, we're the targets of an opening salvo used to find gaps in the armor

Yeah, I don't mean smokescreen in the sense of a distraction. However, I do think it's a mistake to think of incidents where non-trans people are also hurt as an accident or unwanted result.

They actively want to hurt trans, lgb, and disabled kids because they are different and should learn to conform to societal norms

They are fine with other people getting hurt too, certainly, but they are definitely eager to hurt trans and disabled kids equally

Right. Saying it's because of the word "trans" just puts a target on the back of trans people. Trans people have *nothing* to do with what's happening here. The federal govt is full of fascists and they're the ones doing all of this.
