Between this and Alan Wake II (2023) Remedy re-established themselves as one of the best developers around, which is especially amazing considering the length between these triumphs and Max Payne 2 (2003).

I think you should revisit Quantum Break (especially as it has been alluded to quite a few times in Alan Wake 2)

I was going to joke that the Wake sequel is so good — still going through it with my partner, no spoilers — that it tempts me to give Break another shot. I don't know, it was really underwhelming when I tried it and the show aspect was abysmal for the ten minutes I saw. Maybe.

The most interesting part of QB is the choices and consequences coming from you taking control of the game's villain between chapters. Not only do they alter a chapter's challenges, but they alter the show you watch between chapters. Its not just a static fmv cutscene, its reactive!

The show is absolutely network tv kitschy sci fi thriller stuff but its still in a game that sam lake directed so it is a purposeful sort of pastiche. Going into it knowing the characters these actors played in control and aw2 will make it even better
