The inflection on "ridged chips" has a dramaturgical power that approaches the ending of Doctor Zhivago.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (2025). Such a captivating and marvelous achievement — many reach for describing it as a game that used to be made, that two decades ago Mistwalker or Funcom would create. Like it was a minor miracle to appear now. Sure is.

It's a bit late for Holocaust Remembrance Day, but I've just finished translating a relative's Holocaust testimony. Here's her account of arriving at Theresienstadt, after having originally been deported to slave barracks in Upper Austria, lightly edited for length:

Went in for early voting and caught a rainbow; hopefully a good portent and not consolation.

They will only stop when made to stop, and I don't mean legally.

Ultimately we gangstalk because we care.

this painting by Max Ernst is called “Euclid” (1945) & it depicts a guy whose head is a triangle / pyramid. that is exactly what i hoped for when i read the name of the painting. i’m very satisfied

The Last of Us: Part II (2025). Shocked at how much I loved this — and I don't have any real affection for the first entry or its critical discourse.

It's wild that ppl like Hazony and Deneen invoke Montesquieu, Adam Ferguson, and David Hume in one breath while arguing against "Jeffersonian liberalism." Ever heard of the Good Old Cause? Hume was totally opposed to the notion of the ancient constitution anyway. Montesquieu is considered a liberal!

POV: You just said thank you.

Your honour those were religious cultists, who in many cases attacked first, and it was actually an all against all situation. Plus I was bulking at the time...

I look at close to 100 stories a week and even more outside of work. I’ve done this ten years. This is among the most horrific things I’ve ever read — testimony from dying children whose access to medicine has been cut off by the Trump administration. www.npr.org/sections/goa...

Still haven't regained all feeling in my pink and ring finger after weightlifting on Monday. Ulnar nerve compressed or agitated, my first chronic injury in so many years that I'm almost nostalgic.

Randy Pitchford must be held accountable.

Hey folks, I’m on the hunt for a concept art gig! I’ve got over 10 years of experience and have worked on Marathon, Halo, Watchdogs, and more. I love working with teams of all sizes and collaborating with good folks! artstation.com/belgianboolean

Despite the game looking tragically underwhelming, this short directed by Alberto Mielgo is amazing. I'll still never stop wishing these incredible aesthetics were purposed to a singleplayer experience.

Ultima VII: The Black Gate (1992). What surprises me is how contemporary and cohesive this feels — from an uncompromisingly contiguous world to charismatic details such as using a coin triggering a heads-or-tails game with a companion.

I'd like to share that, cancelled project aside, we've also been let go from the college I was teaching at. This obviously also means I'd be more than happy to take on more game urbanism, worldbuilding & game design (freelance) work. Get in touch here: www.game-cities.com/about

Control (2019). Felt motivated to revisit this after House of Leaves (2000) and getting a GPU upgrade — I've become a total slut for raytracing. I love this game more each time I make an attempt on it.
