Abigail "Abby" Anderson. I don't even need to say more. If you're not Abbypilled, Abbymaxxing or Abbycore then you have my pity if not enmity. Just educate yourself as the resources are plentiful. Disgr-

I also wasn't expecting the sheer intensity of the combat. The mechanics author cat and mouse engagements so organically and one that occurred to me felt ripped from the ambush in Miller's Crossing (1990). I would argue the details are too much even but I'm a sicko.

Some beautiful Cormackian touches — even in a facsimile, the great whale ferrying its vast soul through the dark. The positioning of the ultimate in human violence against timescales that eclipse such. A transformative pang of conscience awakening a character to venture into the dark.

I was going to joke that the Wake sequel is so good — still going through it with my partner, no spoilers — that it tempts me to give Break another shot. I don't know, it was really underwhelming when I tried it and the show aspect was abysmal for the ten minutes I saw. Maybe.

Between this and Alan Wake II (2023) Remedy re-established themselves as one of the best developers around, which is especially amazing considering the length between these triumphs and Max Payne 2 (2003).
