once you start to *see* the natural world it's like stepping through a looking glass. It sounds so sappy but what we have built over it sometimes causes me physical pain to be in & be a part of. I hope, somehow, we can unlearn our 'importance' & integrate with natural systems
I agree, but I'm skeptical that humanity will act.
When man invented agriculture 12000 years ago, we invented famine and epidemics. Human life spans shortened, and average height dropped by about a foot.
Yet we persisted. I'm not sure we're ready to change now.
I really hate to disagree, because it absolutely and most certainly is part of the entire picture! It just is not enough to focus on just one issue. We must focus on the entire picture at all times (which is super super super hard to do!)
Climate, soil, wildlife, pollution, atmosphere etc.
I have to disagree with that too, unfortunately. Because by doing so, we are pretending that the problem is smaller than it really is, thus not only downplaying it but also downplaying the urgency to act. I am so far as to say that that is even a form of disinformation, helping fossil fuel interests
Yes, it is critical to act urgently, but alienating people by highlighting their ignorance or lack of understanding will only hinder progress. Instead, comms that give actionable steps & demonstrate tangible impact of those actions is key to inspiring people to listen & take meaningful action, immo
Where are the cats? Humans cannot survive without cats. The Black Death is proof of that. Dogs too. Without their love and loyalty, we humans would have still been living in our dingy caves afraid of everything.
You're 💯 right, unfortunately from my experience everytime I mention those kind of things to friends, family, work colleagues, it's eye roll time, most people don't want to face reality, it's so frustrating.

Yes, agree, but, can we make an exception for mosquitos?
I know they're food for a lot of animals, but if any insect deserves to die out it's those disease spreading little bitey fuckers.
