It doesn't make his art any worse.
It just makes it harder to now have to ignore it.
And that's why people say 'I never really liked them anyway'. Because it eases that moral dilemma.
But actually people need to be braver about that.
I don't think the quality of his work objectively changes because of that.
But your point is valid that it greatly calls into question the integrity of the work.

Kanye was famous in big part because of the strong resonating messages in his more notable work alongside his skill, his earlier stuff sounds ironically like he was talking about what he became and surrounded himself with
