I spent 8 hours a day all summer with K-2 for 4 years (did school-aged child care during school year), and by the end of the day I always wanted to die. So cute, tho. It’s a great age, and they still want you to like them 😅

The events with younger kids were less enervating in that they still wanted you to like them, exactly. The middle schoolers ha ha ooooooof — but I liked talking to them too even as unruly as they were. (I say, having one of my own.)

I did a middle-school event that started with an 8th-grader raising his hand, getting called on, and asking, "Why do we have to be here?" Sadly, he got escorted out of the school library before I could encourage him to convert his question to action and start a riot.

I have a theory that kids are energy vampires - they're partially powered off the energy they've drained from adults. So the more kids to adults, the more exhausting they become, since there aren't enough adults to power all the kids. (Source: parenthood)

Try Grand Hotel Terminus in Bergen. The Engineer loved the Scotch menu. I love 30-ish decor, comfy beds, staff. Nice place to plot a murder.
