The CURRENT ERA is a whole lot, and maybe you like books as a place to escape -- if'n you were looking to escape into my books (and oof, I've written a lot of 'em), here's maybe where I'd start:

I'm surprised (and sad) more people haven't gone on to Wayward, it's such a superb sequel and so good in its own right! happy to say your first four are my first four, with many more in my TBR list, keep 'em coming!
Wanderers and Wayward are my number 1. Then The Book of Accidents , but I'm looking forward to reading the Black River Orchard and The Staircase in the woods.
Loved Wanderers and Book of Accidents. Addicting stories, well-written, and felt a deep connection to the characters. Can’t wait to read more of your stuff. I grew up on King and your style reminds me a lot of his, just with better endings.
Not just saying this, but BLACK RIVER ORCHARD is my current obsession and as scary as it is – I can’t wait to escape into that world every day after living in this one.
Read Chuck's books you will not be disappointed. I devoured Wanderers in 24 hours. It's brilliant. The Book of Accidents is just gobsmackingly brilliant.... go lose yourself in this Author's worlds, you'll be glad you did.
Love this. I read book 1 many years ago and loved it. Just received a shipment this week of books 2-5. So excited to tuck back into the Miriam Black world.
I had it on my to-read but then COVID happened and I couldn't get to it till I felt a little safer. Still was not ready for how affecting it was. I think about it so often
Started with Double Dead (which has been placed along with They Thirst, I Am Legend & ‘Salems Lot - The only Vampire books I like) and just finished Unclean Spirits. Wanderers will be next.

I don't make the rules.
Other than the one above I just made.
I’m shocked more people haven’t read it - it’s fantastic, and a great follow on to Wanderers.
I’m trying to be vague to not spoil it, but when that critical moment in Gumball’s arc happened I was deeply affected.
