This is the ABS version of my argument that calling balls and strikes based on what the catcher does -- something no batter can account for -- is unfair to hitters.

I do think they’re gonna end up needing to move the imaginary pane of the zone out to the front edge of the plate. The hitter has to make a swing decision well before it reaches the plate. If it has that extra 9” to snare the zone some 30 feet after the hitter elected to take, that feels wrong.
