I’m convinced that the same people who complain about having to wash rice - are the same people who probably don’t clean between their toes in the shower.

I got chewed out by suggesting that rinsing rice isn't a cooking tip, it's actually the proper way to cook rice. Said that it's like not washing vegetables or seeding something and complaining it didn't come out right.
It’s not a hack tho. A hack would be putting something in a ziplock bag to crush it and also contain it. Rinsing rice is part of cooking rice properly.
For the vast majority of people it is a hack.
So many people think making rice is exactly like making Minute Rice and get frustrated when real rice doesn’t turn out.
We can sit here all day and argue semantics, but to most it’s a cool trick that produces results, ie a hack.
Call it whatever you like.
It’s a baller move that I guarantee most don’t know about.
Kinda like discovering J. Kenji López-Alt’s hollandaise sauce hack. It’s a game changer.
It’s really not a cooking tip. lol. It’s definitely the way to cook rice. You were correct. By not rinsing rice, you can change physically how the rice turns out, tastes, smells and utilized.
In the olden days when I was a kid in the 1970s, it was normal to do so. I was told at the time that this was to wash off the pesticides. I still do it today because that's how I grew up doing it.
Rinse it for a minute in a mesh strainer to wash away starch, let it drain, and then cook it. Rice is 100% better unless you're looking for a stickier kind of situation.

Teach them how to ration their servings to less than 1 cup per day.
Rice is a garnish, it should weigh less than the main course in the two item dish.
I’m confused.
Not cleaning between their toes is a good one 😂

I’m not arguing semantics. Not arguing at all. Just spreading some helpful information ❤️
See what I did there?
