when you go to a website or send an email theres a mapping to numerical addresses through a zone file. If people with ill intent want to mess with that, they can do so if they can influence the zone’s integrity. maybe route you to a website with malicious content. thanks for asking.

@briankrebs archive.org would be likely to change that rule if they try to force archive.gov to delete content, which they can legally do because anything published by the US government is not subject to copyright. So they can keep their archive of .gov whether the controllers of the domain […]
