I’ve cut a lot but my word count is still outside the industry standard, it’s one area I know there’s still work to do. Do you have a wc cap that you’d consider?

Where is the best place to mention ownvoices/LGBTQ+ rep (query letter, synopsis?) My manuscript has a queer cast, but no romantic plot line, so it doesn’t appear in the description really.

For this contest, the query letter works best, if you're comfortable with that! In general I think that's a good place for it. But it really depends on your comfort level.

How do you approach the editing process in supporting a first time author? After retiring from a career in education (English teacher and Principal), I've been working on Querying and have taken advantage of learning more through Writer's Workshop. In a slump... need to consider new insight.

(I am cutting furiously atm... ✂️) 2) I would not describe my MS as precisely cosy or gritty, but I think it is character-driven (and includes banter between my MC and their BFF 😊). Sound good?

I don't have a max word count as long as it isn't astronomically outside of normal conventions and you're willing to cut. And the story definitely sounds up my alley!

Oh gosh: Sarah MacLean, Kit Rocha, and A.K. Caggiano. But there are so many that I love. These are just top of mind right now.

I love slow burns, friends-to-lovers, only-one-bed, ugh so many things. I mostly want dynamic real characters that aren't blank slates. #RevPit #MeetTheEditor
