I think it’s a noble aim to get people back into work, by mental and other health support, by better pathways into work, by all kinds of counselling and guidance. But surely not by cutting benefits…

Agreed. Removing support on grounds of ‘cost’ without providing the tools for people to help themselves. It all seems shortsighted and frankly a bit ‘Tory’!
It’s economically illiterate. Their quite short sighted proposals will tank small businesses, creating more unemployment and I genuinely don’t think they’re smart enough to grasp it. It’s like they didn’t live through 2010’s austerity. Labour front bench and the PM lack talent.
Having assisted in the removal of the most corrupt British right-wing government in decades, I find myself stunned by the speed at which left-wing media is able to talk down its replacement.
As with Jeremy Corbyn, check what he ACTUALLY said, each time.
I agree... was it not the Labour Party over the recent 14 years of Tory rule that were in favour of carrot over stick? Why did that view disappear? Emulating the Tories is NOT a good look!!
The way this has been positioned and communicated has been awful. The comms team at Labour are amateurish at best, arrogant at worst. Start with the objective of improving health and life and the rest follows.
