If you fail to remember these rules, you are on the outs. If your actions make N feel exposed or ridiculed, you are in for it. The problem is two-fold once you on the outs. First, anyone who knows N as N will know the consequences and will avoid being in your corner lest N turn on them. /2

Those who do not know N will see the charming lovely person and wonder want on earth is wrong with you. And N will be sure to have important people charmed to be sure you have no one to turn to for help. If N gains power, and you are on the outs, watch out because they will not rest until you pay /3

Because until you are removed, or remove yourself from their orbit, they will not rest until they feel satisfied that you are put in your place or eliminated.

So if you are in Congress - you know if you stand up to T or E, they will bury you. They will fund your challengers in the next election /4

The electorate was swayed by T the first time and he likely still has power there with his "charm" and "smarm". So if you stand up, you stand alone and you won't be ok for long. You can stand as a big group (the Dems) but since you have no power, there is little you can do. /5

You need Republicans to decide to stand up for our Constitution and the rule of law, but they need to be a coalition, not a few individuals. And they need their constituents to tell them they will be rewarded not punished for doing so. Because punishment is what they fear. /6

I fear that by the time any of them rally and decide to stand against this slide into tyranny, we won't have a constitutional democracy left to save. But I've seen this play out on stages small and large. N wins by fear and power and because no one will call them on their bad behavior. /7x
