It also bothers me that they conflate diagnosis numbers with prevalence. Higher income countries have better health care and health care professionals who can recognize and diagnose illnesses and disabilities and prescribe working treatments.

I'm not sure this is a fair analysis @chrischirp.bsky.social. Most scientific societies aren't in a position to be plaintiffs in a lawsuit about non-payment of grant funding or illegally changing the indirect rates previously negotiated. /1
