The NFL exists because the teams all agreed to work together for the common good of all teams - revenue sharing, etc. It's why small market teams remain competitive instead of going belly up. If the owners really wanted to be here they ALL would.

The players are mostly uniformed, the fan base is mostly uniformed. When a minority of players decided they wanted to speak out about a social issue, their own ignorant peers and the fans turned on them and so did the NFL.
The NFL is run by MAGA, similar to the UFC, so my educated guess is that is the number one to one hundred reason. Bluesky has the reach, just not to incels, racists, misogynist, or Christian Nationals that the NFL values.
