Another obvious point that can’t be overstated: all of this is happening in the ongoing wake (see Christina Sharpe) of the centuries long legacy of transatlantic slavery, the largest forced mass displacement and imprisonment of human beings in the history of the planet.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!
