It should not replace the XP bar.
And please, don't make it on by default on all servers, otherwise it will completely get rid of the privacy and people will most definitely abuse it to harm other players. Maybe make it on by default on realms, but not on public servers.

having it toggleable client-side would be nice rather than exclusively a server-side toggle. i'd rather not use it personally, even if the server enables it.

i also don't like having more UI elements in general, so i do appreciate it replacing the xp bar instead of adding more "clutter".

i'm generally against adding more UI to the player's screen and would like more toggles for what we already have. (I want potion effects gone from my HUD, damn it!)

i do consider the locator bar's current form quite respectful of the existing UI, i think it just needs more personalization.

realistically speaking, players don't need to see the XP bar. it's not important most of the time, and when it is important, you only really need the level number.

but, some people love making minecraft look like a generic sci-fi monitor, so i do think there should be a toggle for both bars at once

Cannot play with it now but I'ld suggest to add a middle option, instead of on/off, the waypoints only show players if you can see their name tags on your screen. No up/down arrows, no huge range. Then what's the point of waypoints. I find it harder to locate/follow nametags (especially far ones)

It's a cool feature, and many will like it on my server, but it's not for me; I prefer to be left alone. I wish I could disable it in settings like chat, without sacrificing armor for privacy.

...I actually like that it's controllable in-game rather than buried in settings, but swapping my enchanted helmet for a plain head seems like too much.

I love the up/down arrows to guide players vertically. I kinda wish we could customize the icon shown with resource packs. I reckon that would be amazing for servers with many POIs!
