I should be more detailed here — I can handle short stints of working seated more or less just fine these days.
But at the time I made the switch over a decade ago, working standing 100% of the time helped me get my back sorted after having wrecked it by sitting too long.

It made all the difference in terms of back pain.
I went from frequently being in so much pain I couldn’t work, to zero pain.
All by switching to standing.
Not alternating sit/stand. 100% standing.
