In fact it was Switzerland's Credit Suisse that had to be bailed out by UBS and the Swiss govt. In the process, the Swiss govt basically defaulted on $17bn in in debt owned by banks and investors all over the world. I'd rather have my money in JPM any day.

Being an asset manager is a different business than being a bank. The Swiss banning US asset firms from managing their pension funds is terrible, but not directly related to the safety of our banks. They did not say they will withdraw money from US banks.

My pet hypothesis is that Musk is intentionally trying to crash the dollar and replace it with cryptocurrency -- and he just might succeed, at least when it comes to his planned destruction.
