I agree on many counts, but its sports are all free to air and shown in local markets. Imagine being able to watch Newcastle United or Bournemouth for free every week on the regional BBC1 feed.

Yeah certainly more accessible when it's on free to air channels over there, it's improving here with over 200 games this season being broadcast iirc, depending how that goes well eventually get every game broadcast (albeit pay to access)

And to be fair, the US is going the other direction by putting more on Amazon, etc rather than the main networks. But for $8 a month people in the US can watch every single PL match on NBC's streaming service Peacock. Wish we had that deal in the UK!

It's an aggrandizement of the individual over club and supporters. It's abhorrent. This has no place in team sports. That American sport does it should be the biggest red flag.
