This is why I always buy the follow up cards. The best ability is availability. My 4070 Super will outlast any 4090 or 5090. Which makes it more valuable. I OC’d it and it never gets above 65 Celsius. My next card will probably be a 5080 super or a 5070 ti Super. Never buy the first gen.

Looking at the pictures... Looks like a faulty third party cable... will be interesting to see if more cards pop up, but seeing how this is only one card (out of maybe 5 XD) hard to say if this is a more bigger issue

These cards are getting way too power hungry, where people need 1200-watt power supplies and such. They need to revise the connector. One connector was a good idea in theory, but its too much power and heat for one. You really need two or three to share the load.

I pull 467w on my 7900xtx but that's only when I'm pushing big titles to the limit at 4K. No fear though, runs pretty cool and it's on 3 8-pin connectors.

I think you can't get more basic in electrical engineering than design power cables to be able to carry the amount of amperes necessary to power a device.

Cheap, out of spec cables/connectors will melt. Not really surprising IMHO.
