I saw it during it's last theatrical run in the early 80s. I would never condone releasing it again. Having said that, there are some wonderful moments in the animated segments.
Too bad the entire film is a shameful justification of the Jim Crow era.

I have secondhand knowledge of a taped introduction for SotS by a well-respected film historian (relayed to me by a friend who was told that by said historian). I’m sure it’s well-researched, contextual, and respectful.

It’s been ready for years, and if the movie ever appears, it needs THAT.

I know I’ll catch hell for this but I don’t think the revised warnings are bad. They still acknowledge the outdated — perhaps even ill-intended — depictions and perceptions without the implication the viewer is a POS for enjoying the movie.

I will always love Disney but the most recent decisions are definitely questionable, there have several companies who unfortunately gave in to Trump easily and I respectfully disagree with their authoritarian views, it’s beyond questionable towards authoritarian regimes and the normalization of it!
