11466. Severance “Hello Ms. Cobel” - I don’t remember the first season being this blue. This is so well crafted, I say that as I was able to follow everything going in despite only seeing the 1st season once. Let’s see if that holds up. (A-)

Predictions/potential spoilers for “The Pitt:” it’s a 15 hour show based on a 12 hour shift but I guarantee there’ll be a mass casualty event at the concert that Robbie’s son mentioned he’s going to in episode four.

How is this not a bigger story? Pancreatic Cancer is such a deadly disease. Seeing results like this is highly encouraging.

Saturday morning cartoons and more from May 24th, 1975: what would you watch?

Friday night July 5th, 1991: what would you watch?

11465. Ned and Stacey "Model Husband" - You know who is really underrated? Greg Germann. Sure he's been on many successful shows but never at the center of one & never winning any awards. Dude's just funny AND can play a smarmy villain to boot. That's rare. (B+)

11464. In the House "The Final Cut" - Hell yeah, outdoors shots on a multi-cam. They always look awkward AF. This ep has a lot of John Amos in it. That's always a good thing. (B-)

11463. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air "Bougie Sings the Blues" - With a cameo by B.B. King. I think. Honestly I'm not going to look it up to see if I'm right. A nice Carleton focused ep, something that amazingly, I've not seen from this show yet (I've seen less than 10 eps). (B)

Fresh Prince of Bel Air fashion corner: when is the girls wearing suspenders trend going to come back?

11462. Chicago Hope "Every Day a Little Death" - Oh hey, it's Giovanni Ribisi playing a creep just 4 days after his X-Files episode aired, it even features the same Fuel song! Other than there being a lawyer character regular, this show is just so... average in construction. (B-)

Chicago Hope fashion corner: this is what you wore to work out in 1995.

11461. Murphy Brown "Murphy's Law" - Outside of Murphy, Miles was clearly the best character on this show, right? Or at least the most developed. I appreciate sitcoms w/famous characters that remember that they are, so many "forget" or just gloss over. Not this one! (B)

11460. Can't Hurry Love "A Fish Called Gregg" - This is a very Seinfeldian plot in that Nancy McKeon's character can't handle a boyfriend with webbed feet. Not that it had a chance, but if this show had had a 2nd season they should've replaced both male leads, they're dull. (C+)

11459. The Nanny "Val's Apartment" - Just like Joe's, Val's is full of roaches, but also has Squiggy. Fran's pretending to be 23, yeah, that's... that's just weird, but this show is super horny all the time there's always going to be some weirdness. (B+)

My local McDonald’s has one male manager in his 30’s and the rest of the staff is from this scene. It’s SO obvious.

My GOD was Alicia Witt pale.

11458. Cybill "Cybill with an S" - Oh hey, it's Wendie Malick, I can't imagine her & Cybill getting along. So, most of the time when a female actress had a reputation as being difficult it was sexism but w/Cybill, naw, it was her. That said, Malick destroys it here. (A-)

It's not a real Friday without this guy.

This is also one of infinite sitcom plots that revolve around gay/lesbian subjects where bisexual people simply do not exist. The 90's were so binary.

11457. First Time Out "Jackie and the New Super Show" - At least 5 sitcoms in my 1995 watch have made jokes about the movie Free Willy despite it being 2 years old at this point. It's hard to tell if the show is improving or if I'm just getting inured to it. (B-)

This is amazing, a Chris Evans starring unaired sitcom pilot from 2000. youtu.be/mdoikTQ30h4?...

Yeah that “fact” is not remotely true. Like almost all traditional media (including newspaper & magazine subscriptions, live TV viewing, recorded music & video sales) it has been going down, but peaked around the turn of the millennium.

12. Bad Day at Black Rock - Man what a cast! A small town w/a dark secret, a common enough story though now I suspect they’re supernatural more often than not. Musics a bit overbearing & it’s maybe about 15 minutes too long but fantastic acting & great atmosphere. (A-)

11457. The Pitt “2:00 PM” - This is quite the emotional, quiet and calm episode and the first to bring me to full on tears. At the same time it’s got a dumb human trafficking plot in it. Ah well can’t win them all but the rest is fantastic. (A)

I feel so sick. Enough with the lies, enough with the games. They know exactly what they're doing. This is a neo-Nazi movement. Proudly so. The only reason they've kept it coded up until now was to take advantage of those who didn't want to believe it. No more looking away. Face up to what it is.

Thursday night June 7th, 1962: what would you watch?

Just noticed I can't taste or smell very well. Hurm.
