People love to neglect the unjust supply chain in EVs, solar panels, and wind turbines. Mining of lithium, cobalt and REEs has disastrous social and environmental effects. Capitalism can only “solve” one environmental crisis by producing new ones.
without really knowing the rest of the argument, this sounds a lot like my thinking on other ostensibly-socialist civic arenas like zoning/city planning/city budgets, etc.
i've been involved at various levels in my city gov, and finding a new story for this stuff feels critical and low-hanging
yeah that last sentence “infrastructure opposition…” but translated to “general municipal engagement” or something lol
what i’m trying to think is what other registers are available for revolution, beyond the political register. energy infrastructure, city planning, etc seem like good starts
