The US military and Hollywood have a long history of working together. I’m not surprised by this at all. In fact, if films want to use the military (example Top Gun), the military has to be portrayed in a positive light.

Aside from the obvious waste of spending, I want to know the contract details. Did the Gov state it retains the rights to the video (that's how it should be done), or did Trump give the rights to Michael Bay?

The difference is the former is public domain (taxpayers own it) the latter is a grift.
