I grew up in Dallas, was 7 when my mom took my sister and me to get a glimpse of JFK & Jackie along their route. We were overjoyed to see them. We went straight to our elementary school. Right as I sat down in class, the loud speaker announced that he had been shot. Everyone was crying.

I'm a few months older than JFK Jr, it's one of my 1st memories. Mom & Grandma crying (which was out of character), then insisting that the little boy was wearing shorts so I should be able to (in Iowa in Nov.). Obviously, I was too young for significance.

I was 5 when it happened. I have faint memories. I knew jfk was shot. Knew he was president. Didn't know what a president was. My lost vivid memory was that I couldn't watch cartoons. Every channel was just about the assassination

We lived in San Bernardino, right up against the mountains. You couldn't get reception with rabbit ears. So we had to pay like $6 a month for primitive cable. My dad wasn't happy to do that!

I remember that day. When I came home from 3rd grade to have my lunch, my mom was crying. I didn’t understand what had happened. We watched news all evening and we heard the story. Sad time.
