That was in Toronto, in the late 1970s. I was naïve.
But still, today, the city's +50% immigrant & +50% non-white, and mostly, we all just get along fine.
And the white invaders stayed in their own countries.
In an effort to appeal to a larger customer base, expand globally, be more competitive and increase profits,
What they discovered is that employees just wanted to be treated fairly and would stick around if they were paid a living wage. That is the equity portion of the equation.
DEI is a win-win for both employers and employees and is an important part of an organization’s success.
That’s what removing DEI from the government means to me.
