I'm researching and studying the Japanese translation of Gardner. Perry Mason has 4 novellas (3 translated), but a fifth exists in Japan, titled "The Case of the Wanted Witness". I suspect it's a pastiche written by the translator, or rewrite of novel, but I haven't been able to find out for sure.
The fourth and final novella, “The Case of the Irate Witness,” appeared only in Collier’s Magazine and was probably not written by Gardner. I’ve never heard of “Wanted Witness.”
"The Case of the Irate Witness" was reprinted in the July 1954 issue of Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, where it became the title story of a collection of short stories and has also been collected in anthologies.
"The Case of the Wanted Witness" is a mystery.
