Our economy should be based on goods we produce and people buying said goods, the reason goods started being produced elsewhere is because of cheap/slave labor.

in theory i think different places should produce different things if it's more efficient, but we don't exactly differentiate between "cheaper because it's more efficient" and "cheaper because of sweatshops"

i think as a society we have a narrative that capitalism is better than earlier systems for innovation because it picks out better elites via competition and in reality wealth consolidation and elitism are the problem and were always the problem
