It is ok to have a "light" year in terms of decorating & menu, etc. We skipped over the fall stuff and almost all the Christmas decorations are up. The lights and battary operated candles have been helping in the fall gloom. (I usually like fall).

I ordered a turkey pre-cooked from the store, and I’m going to make some sides. That will be enough to put on a table. All that matters is my chosen family, anyway. Some years we’ve had pizza or takeout. My gratitude is for them, even now. Maybe especially now. The rest doesn’t matter. 💕

I have been busy since February with political stuff. Only time I slowed down was when I had covid in July and I got no rest even then. Mentally, and emotionally I feel drained. Not to mention the time change. Having SAD every year around this time sucks but I will get through it like usual.

Sending you hugs. It’s a constant wtf. I know the reason I’m able to sleep now is because Biden is still president. I’m actually thankful we can use my husband’s being immune suppressed (heart transplant) as a reason not to socialize with everyone. Our son will be home from college, but that’s it.
