The trans sports panic feels like something that was mad-libbed together by a machine learning algo most likely because it was. Its importance was never about the number of people impacted, which is tiny. It was important because this combo resonated and angered their voters more than CRT or DEI.

I've played roller derby with cis and trans people at the same time, and never felt like trans women had an unfair advantage (in some cases a huge disadvantage as their body sheds a ton of muscle mass and bone density really quickly on hrt), we're all just trying to skate fast and hit people

i know that scenario is not the case for everyone, because everyone's body responds to treatment differently, even when that was not the case it didn't matter because anyone at any size could be competitive
