i really loved Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin! also Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas! the length of the series may be a bit intimidating, but i found the books really easy to read!
I didn’t have a good experience with book of the month—I cancelled and they kept charging me. I did chargebacks on my card, and they continued charging me and then blocked my account and customer service said they wouldn’t do anything until I reversed the chargebacks.
'A Psalm for the Wild-Built' and it's successor 'A Prayer for the Crown Shy' by Becky Chambers is the balm of a story we need right now. It's like cozy Sci-Fi with lgbtqai2S+ representation! The main character Dex, is agender.
The best book I have probably ever read was Tuesdays with Morrie, but that's a terribly sad book reflecting on life so maybe not, depending on what you want. We Were Liars if phenomenal, also on the sadder side, but not much. And House in the Cerulean Sea! Great book, just vibes, and magic
i see someone recommended the Midnight Library (sci-fi/ficiton). i second that! if you want non-fiction, Humankind a Hopeful History was really good and eye opening. also easy to read if you haven't read in a while.
I haven't done book of the month, but I do like their selection for this month. Bk Borison's new book is in it, I recommend her as her romance books are cute and small town focused. Also it has spice but it's not in too much detail
I really liked sadie by courtney summers, it’s a thriller/mystery. It deals with some heavy topics though, so maybe check the trigger warnings. The inheritance games could be fun too, it’s more of a puzzle mystery kind of series, it’s fast paced and definitely not as heavy and serious as sadie
if you like autobiographies, Glass Castle is a good heartbreaking story, Amy Poehler’s autobiography is a good lighthearted one. if you like fantasy lesbian love story types, This Is How You Lose the Time War is amazing. if you like dark dystopian novels, Tender is the Flesh is… a ride.
A great book to kind of “ease” back into reading is my all-time favorite book “The Last Days of Summer” by Steve Kluger. It’s an epistolary novel told completely through forms of correspondence; letters, postcards, interviews with a psychiatrist, progress reports, and newspaper clippings.
I would recommend most Matt Haig or Patrick Ness books! They’re fantasy realism if you’re into that - The Midnight Library by Matt Haig and More Than This by Patrick Ness especially 🤓
I put forward the book My Sister, The Serial Killer for my book club's April meetup. I read it a couple years ago, and it's an easy read with a wild story. Basically, this woman's sister keeps murdering her boyfriends. 😬
I’m always up for recommending mine! I've gotten good feedback, so I did something right. Parallel Circuit, crime drama, and Ignite Earth Red Giant, sci-fi doomsday. Check out blurbs. Reviews on Amazon. https://wandavargasauthor.com
A court of thorns and roses series hands down. It’s beauty and the beast/the hunger games for adults. Everyone I know is obsessed. A good place to start reading again 🫶🏻
I did do book of the month for a long time! I currently have it paused bc i just have too many books on my
physical bookshelf that I haven’t read yet!! it’s a great way to get a book each month & sometimes access early to popular books. they have a variety to choose from as well!
In my #thriller Becoming Insane Jack and John will confront the monsters of their minds. With elements of #horror and #darkfantasy it pushes the boundaries of their imaginations. Reached n°3 on Amazon hot new releases in #LGBTQ and #horror and free on #KindleUnlimited: https://pge.me/3rbyBP

I got back into reading in a big way last year and it was by reading YA novels that I loved growing up to start! I did the Percy Jackson series and then all of Rick Riordian’s books and then a series of unfortunate events 😋 that way you can figure out what genres you love but a bit more consumable!
My time to shineeeee!! Emily Henry is amazing! Ali Hazelwood is great! Divine Rivals and Ruthless vows would be a great intro back into fantasy as well! The hunger games has a new novel coming soon so perfect time for a reread or a first read!
What sort of vibe are you looking to get back into?
i think it's a concept? local bookstores might have it... afaik they basically wrap a couple of books up so you can't see the cover, and you kind of pick up a book at random (hence the blind date idea)
it’s a concept that’s popular in the last couple years. I see it at Barnes and Noble sometimes or at independent bookstores. The books are wrapped up with a brief description on the front and you choose it based on the vibes. It’s basically so you don’t judge by the cover haha
