Actually, not so farfetched (on the hardware side) when I think about it, Switch 2 is already compatible with the GameCube Controller Adapter so all you’d need is the original link cable… but the problem is Nintendo are not likely to enable it in their GameCube emulator.

Thank you for confirming that. That wasn't what threw me off, though. It was the text on the box: "NOT TO BE SOLD SEPARATELY." I didn't actually notice the box art was different itself until later.
I did look into it, though, and added what I found in response to my original post.

Correct. It looks like GameCube games are exclusive to NSO2. So I’m assuming when on a Switch 2 you’ll have the option of downloading GC games.

Realistically, the games are probably too big to have a lot of them in one collection on the Switch 1 with how small its internal memory is.

They'll be especially too big with the plan seeming to be upscaling everything specifically on Gamecube's NSO (as shown in the direct)
