I continue to be somewhat amazed and confounded by the role Texas plays in political discussions. Less a real place where real people live and more a metaphysical object to be rebuked or idolized by people who know less than nothing of the state

It’s kind of maddening that there are 32 million people in this state and yet Texas politics remains totally illegible to people living on the coasts because we have no prestige media ecosystem.
