The two games that are iconic during his spell in charge are Villa on Bonfire Night 1989 and Leeds first game of his last season. Lost both unfortunately.

Can't wait to open this! Biggest change for my young eyes was going from a fast defence to a slow defence due to a) Selling Stevens and replacing him with a man carrying a wardrobe on his back b) Not replacing Rats when he came back from injury slow (Fergie would have). Now we were 20 yards deeper.

Waiting for Santa to bring me this book - really looking forward to it. I've grown up loving Colin Harvey - player, coach, manager, legend, absolute gentleman with a love of his club without parallel.
I can even claim to being a fellow ex Holy Name pupil.
But...... there's a 'but...' how it ended.

As a 9 year old blue in June 1987 I was really disappointed that HK left to go to Spain but was made up when Colin replaced him really looking forward to reading the book as I really enjoyed the interview on the Royal Blue Podcast the other week

In today's language, it would have been a 'lazy' appointment. Harvey was not the right appointment, but it was seemingly all that was on the cards. Kendall shouldn't have left.

Can't recall anyone being against it at the time. Harvey seemed the obvious choice just to keep the machine ticking over in hindsight we needed a bit more. Looking forward to reading your take.
