Question for all The Gamers out there:
Define "overpowered" and give an example of something in a game that you consider to be "overpowered".
(Do not include glitches or exploits. Also don't include something that requires a ridiculously high level of execution to pull off)

Wildly outrageous burst damage and the possibility to shoot from one side of the map to another.
More or less invalidated magic as a ranged damage method.
Pre-nerf Le Monarque in PvP
Warmind Cells
SMGs in PvP circa OG Shayura's
Example for me is Knights of the Round in FFVII.
You can comfortably beat the entire game on 1 credit by elbowing (thus knocking down) every enemy in the game.
That elbow attack is the ONLY ATTACK that actually WORKS. Is it overpowered or is every other attack just really really really bad (or maybe both!)
Mega Mushroom in New Super Mario Bros
Like... my example of the lockpick in RE1. Resident Evil is a game where you have to solve puzzles, open locked doors, find keys, etc.
Jill's lockpick is given to her from the start, and basically takes away 70% of that, at least in the first mansion segment.
Jill basically gets the magic key for free from the start. I don't think it's "broken" because it won't beat the game for you, but it's VERY CONVENIENT 😅
Example: A significant number of cards on the Magic: The Gathering banned card list. Recent example: Nadu
suddenly it becomes a waiting game where you only lose if you get impatient
gnawed leaf is an item that makes it so u are completely invincible so long as you hold completely still
orbitals are any item that orbits the character, and most of them deal damage without player intervention (like theres a knife that just circles u, etc.)
also very easy to break greed mode with a d20 still
As a player it can take 8 turns to make 1 full army
Example: Psychic types in Gen1 Pokemon.
I'm not sure if this is still the case, but Meta Knight was really overpowered in Super Smash Bros Brawl (easy moveset, good killing potential, multi-jump/high survivability).
I think BG3's Storm Sorcerer is overpowered because 30 feet of flight movement, immune to AoO, every time you use a spell slot is ridiculously versatile. There's no situation where it's not useful but you spend very little to do it.
shotguns
(1d4+3d6 passive healing per turn makes you close to unkillable.)
E.g. Lucky Foot or PHD in the OG Binding of Isaac, which makes it so all pills have positive effects.
*With* them, as soon as you find just three pills, you've basically already won. It's why the best character to play as in the OG is Cain.
“Stealth Microwave Evelynn” was something people did in the beta/launch of LoL where a player would stick Sunfire Capes on Evelynn.
Sunfire Capes give your character an aura that burns enemies…
Additionally, Evelynn had the ability to stay invisible to opponents as long as she didn’t attack people.
So you’d stand capes on her, walk up to someone, and all your opponent sees is their character just start to melt since auras aren’t attacks
Also, on Yorick on launch…. If you know, you know…
But potions can be instantly drunk from the inventory even while stunned, and stack infinitely. Take a big hit and fall to the floor ensuring your death? Just instantly chug 12 potions that heal 10 hp per second each.
The Metal Blades from MM2
The "Ward" spellin Demon's Souls.
Jill's lockpick from RE1.
Also it's my turn now! Would you like to become vegan friend!?!?!
example is if you join a game your friend plays and he gives you a end game weapon, you are overpowered.
1) A shurikan gun that shoots lighting
2) A stake gun that lobs grenades that can be shot with a stake or other weapons
3) Hitscan chain gun rocket launcher
4) Powerups, tarot cards, & 666 mode
