I'm mostly opposed to having player housing include important utility but man it'd be SO COOL to have an engineering "transporter room" that lets me zap to other places on a separate CD from my toys

I’ve always been a fan of housing adding shortcuts or ease of access. Its when they start to add stuff that’s locked behind player-housing that it gets frustrating
I'm not against some of the benefits that Garrisons brought (and were also in WildStar, which probably had the best housing feature, ever), like herb farm, mines, fishing hole, etc.
I'm not against utility features like portals and things. I'm just really, REALLY hoping they include guild halls!
That's the messy, complicated part isn't it? I don't envy them - Do they make player housing purely cosmetic? Or do they allow players to unlock things for their house like a Mailbox... and an Auction House...
In your example, 100% a mailbox should just be there, this's with the newer player in mind where it'd just make sense to have.
But firmly believe there should be a distinction between being home or in the city.
Yeah that's a good shout. I'm excited to see how far they take it. Knowing nothing about game development; I am imagining streets. You'll have neighbours (and you hate them). You can sit on your stoop like a really cool person

I hope they don’t add the AH to player housing. I didn’t mind garrisons but it did contribute to the world feeling so empty.
