The series I'm following currently are mostly in the LITRPG sub genre. If that's something that might interest you a good first series would be "Dungeon Crawler Carl".
If the LITRPG stuff is not your flavor, I would see if "Mark of the Fool" is more your speed. It closer to traditional fantasy.
Current reads:
The In Death series by J. D. Robb (Nora Roberts)
The Crow Trap by Ann Cleeves
The Perfect Predator by Steffanie Strathdee and Thomas Patterson
And also a few others that I don't remember at the moment, probably a couple LitRPGs and indie zombie apocalypse books.
The priority of the orange tree by Samantha Shannon, was starting to go stir crazy without more info on the next bone season book, and needed something to tie me over until Onyx Storm next week!
I'm doing my level best to diversify my reading out of fantasy, and also not simply rereading the White Rat series, but I need something I'm just not finding from my TBR at the moment.

Not fantasy but all 5 stars imo
I really wanted to love it, but I can handle a nonlinear narrative OR multiple perspectives that are constantly changing. Not both.
Between that and the deep cuts from the history of NOLA jazz, I never knew what was happening.
If it's not a 5 star read for me, I'm going to binge Saint of Steel and not feel bad at all.
