The logic is that with Ulbricht back in action, he can take much of the cartels' business, moving it within the borders and start manufacturing businesses. This will be a direct attack on the cartels.

He didn't sell the drugs, he provided the platform just like Facebook didn't commit a genocide but provided a platform for it.

Cartels on the other hand chop body parts.
