I went ahead and faxed my representative. I live right nearby a Post Office, and it's one of the friendliest government buildings I've been in. I just feel like it's a little bit like a drop in the bucket because my rep is already against this stuff, but this is a cause I care about.

If you don't like calling reps, email them! My partner has been calling them basically every day, but I'm more comfortable with emails. Flood ALL their means of communication and let them know how deeply unpopular this is.

saaaame. i started allowing myself news breaks if i do two different issues (with calls to both sens and rep) per day. I know i'm not like obliged to listen to the news but it's a treat to listen to something silly and not feel guilty about it that i've taken part today 😅

or if you're shy like me you can call them outside of office hours (i am in europe anyway so I call my rep and sens in my morning and leave a voicemail with all my contact details, apparently that also counts)! ❤️

Do you have any resources or links or anything really on how to write an email to a representative regarding this issue? It would be my first time and I’m at a loss. I’m in a similar small business boat where i’m in the process of restarting my business after a hiatus.

If you go to https://5calls.org and select which issue you're interested in and put in your zip code, it will show you who represents you, you can then google them and find their contact forms or emails. 5 Calls also provides scripts, I used it as just a general guide on points to include in my email.

Emails don't have to be long or fancy (some of their contact forms limits how long it can be anyway) it's best if you say how it's relevant to you personally, be clear about the specific issues you're concerned/unhappy about, and ask they take action to represent your interests as a constituent.

By the way, however you contact them whether it's phone/voicemail, email, or fax, be sure to include your address so your feedback is tallied. Very important to contact the reps for your state and district and confirm that you indeed live there.
