No pile ons but "it's ok to lack basic decency if you have a small following" is one of the weirdest and saddest semi-widespread ideas on social media and it needs to die a quick and irreversible death
it's this and the trend here not long ago about calling big accounts selfish for not following back an equal amount of people lmao. the small account self-victimizing sucks! and this is coming from someone who has never broken triple digits lol.
Whenever I break 30+ I already start thinking "Oh God what did I say" having a lot of followers is not something I actively seek out ever. When seeing the absolute intelligence that searches out the threads of those who have a large following I know exactly why.
I do want to be clear about something. Accounts with large followings have a level of gravity (in the physics sense) to them that they (we) need to be aware of when posting. Call it the Perrin Principle: once you get to a certain size you need to be actively thinking about unintended impacts
Right - if a large account goes hunting for small accounts to dunk on, that’s asshole behavior. But if a small account directly attacks someone with a large following, they don’t get to yell “smol bean!!” when the inevitable pushback happens.
Exactly. The notion that "I should be allowed to act like an asshole and you can't because I have less followers than you" doesn't really make ANY sense
People want the anonymity to say whatever they want that they have in the real world on a platform that literally everyone in the world can access and see....
That in which I wish I hadn't bothered to look but found what might be the source grievance...

They are pissed off about Threadnought, and the mocking by people with legal education (or common sense) mocking such genius thoughts as with prejudge means the judge was biased!!

Those are completely different concepts, y'all
One of the strangest artifacts of contemporary culture is this recurring theme of wanting to escape consequence.
Same dynamic is present in right wing “free speech” discussions: they don’t want free speech, what they want is consequence-free speech.
Referring to the dog piling is anything to go by.
Not even getting into the basics that freedom of speech is a government retaliation tenet, not a society one.
