Cleese's stance on Brexit was disappointing. Even the most cherished friend can disappoint you, but you look past it because you are in sync on most everything else.
Great statement!!
Unfortunately yes, though as with Trump more people voted against him than for him. We too have a FPTP system that allows this to happen. Last year we grew up a bit and gamed the system to get the Tories out. Result: a Labour government with a huge majority on less than half the vote. We need PR.
We did this by voting tactically - and in some cases holding our noses & voting for the candidate most likely to defeat the Tories even if they weren't our preferred party. Maybe that's what America should have done? 🤔
Johnson is a lying, selfish, lazy arsehole but he isn’t even a fraction as evil and corrupt as Trump. He is also not tacky and crass in the way Trump is so, in Britain’s absurd class system, he is given a lot of leeway
Aziz from the Milwaukee County Zoo would be a better president of course. the world would love him more.
his beautiful smile predict that his children would do less demage to the americans then musk kids are doing.
therefore Aziz for president !
The magat king avoids information to keep his mind clear of the truth while he's lying. This frees him up to harvest bullshit from his imagination without reality popping in to cause a hesitation or any tell tale eye movement.
Fat Caligula can lie with confidence.
You see musk, "Uh, uh, uh, lie!"
Yes, thank you so much Mr. Cleese, good to know. Good manners have largely vanished from our political discourse, certainly with regard to the use of colloquial language.
Now, if I may make make a small request: can you have a copy of your courteous note hand-delivered to that piece of shit?
Not that I wish death upon anyone but my imagination has discovered surprising ways that Mr. Trump, regretfully of course, might suddenly be confronted with death. God forbid.

Trump is so conceited that he thought that when Brits called Boris Johnson, Mini Trump. It was in fact an insult, to the point Boris made sure he didn’t have to meet Trump on one Trumps outings.
If it is Trump‘s “observation,” trust me, unless you are wearing the red Nazi fascist hat, nobody believes anything like this that slithers out his mouth. We know who he is and we know that democracy driven world leaders don’t like him, and more importantly, don’t trust him. Moreover, 🖕🏻Trump.
I’m pretty surprised Cleese said this. On most cultural and political issues in the UK in recent years he has been very right wing. I can imagine him finding Trump absurd and tacky but could totally see him voting for him.
He was loudly pro-Brexit and has said some pretty regressive things about gay and trans issues. If you want a Python who is still a good guy, Michael Palin is probably your best bet
I had read somewhere that he'd turned away from the whole 'anti-woke' thing. The fact he's referencing Gareth Southgate would tend to suggest that might be the case. Very welcome, if true.
I'm not closely following his career so it is quite possible he has dialed back from some of the more toxic stuff. Do we know the source of the quote above? I am not saying it's not true, I'm just been sensibly careful of info on social media.
To be fair, I have done a quick Google and it does seem I am being a bit unfair. He has been very clearly anti-Trump. Just goes to show that people are more complex than we like to admit.
I cannot begin to express the derision everyone in Scotland, Britain and the rest of the world has for Trump, a more pathetic excuse for a man has never been seen.
It should be remembered that John Cleese is also a far right OneNation, self declared anti-woke millionaire tax exile pompous douche whose career with his Oxford comedy group, relied on stealing most of their material from mimicking Spike Milligan and the Goon Show.
Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, and other so-called “tech bros” who also happen to be among the world’s richest men have thought about how the energy industry can—or must, in their view—keep pace with AI’s rapid growth.

“Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:

In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump”
😅
Yet some follow and even celebrate this guy, he is a shepherd of the foolish and the evil.

I want to gag when he calls himself America’s favorite president.

She strongly disapproves of guns but this would be an exception.
And I am not even joking.
Dump: No.
Occasionally, bits of truth come out.
the thing is when comedians want to get serious they can do it really well...😎🤘
Also, I don't think the fat orange man knows who Gareth Southgate is.
You would reach more people, when you add a good description into the Alt-text field.
That is pretty easy, especially, when your image just contain text.
This way, you support visually impaired people and everyone else, who rely on a good filled Alt-text.
