For a very brief time, I worked at an eye doctor‘s office at the front desk. This is actually pretty common and especially when older patients would come in they would have their kids with them handling their documentation. It’s gonna be really sad when someone has to come in for their glaucoma shot

U can’t get Medicaid without applying for it (nowadays ur usually turned down a few times first) so u know! I had a kidney transplant and quad bypass and got calls and paperwork to fill out regularly.

This is important because you may recall that some people did not understand that the ACA and Obamacare are the same thing. So if we talk about the proposed catastrophic cuts to Medicaid, it is possible that some people may be unaware of what is about to happen and how it will affect them.

Exactly. My team has to explain ACA all the time. Same with Medicaid and Medicare, as in those private programs that convince people they are worthwhile. People really do not have an understanding of what the fed or state governments do. It is a shame.

I can confirm. I learned yesterday that HuskyHealth is a CHiP program. I just assumed it was a State of Connecticut program, I didn't realize it was related. Health insurance is complicated. Someone posted this which I found useful.

What I was told was that it's more about reducing the stigma of getting aid.

Medicaid is something people might turn down because it's for poor people, but if you call it something else, they're more likely to apply.

Everyone on Medicaid KNOWS they are on Medicaid. The politicos are purposely confusing the nomenclature and public/media are buying into it as though people dont know. Literally everyone I have ever spoken to about their healthcare KNOWS it by Medicaid, NOT the state's name of it.
