that I don't like music by poor people. It's that I don't like the uninteresting cookie cutter versions of these things that dominate the market and that I often find unlistenable because they are droll and simplistic. See also Limp Bizkit. Or Blink 182.

Modern FM radio is a minefield of consumerism? There is not 1 country song on the radio not trying to sell you a pickup or boat like they're culturally necessary. Hip hop is the same with cars, chains, watches, shoes, liquor, etc etc. It's INTRINSICALLY broadcast to those with spending power.
