The insane thing about trying “this won’t lower egg prices!” messaging is that it buys into the transparently ridiculous fallacy that people who voted for trump and claimed they did so expecting him to lower grocery prices were being sincere.

"How does eliminating research for cancer treatment I'll need in ten years lower the price of eggs?"
"How does trans women being raped in prison lower the price of eggs?"
1. People were mad about some economic things that were real, not imaginary
2. People who voted for Trump will shrug when he does nothing about (1), not turn on him or even notice.
