What an awful, irresponsible and misleading title. There was no #IceAgeApocalypse. People didn't survive the Pleistocene, the human story is one of cultural adaptation to change and dispersal/contraction with change. This title also feeds into right wing conspiracy territory.

but not an archaeologist. that's a related problem, many of hte most popular scholars who present archaeology to hte public are not archaeologists either. often they don't do as bad a job as 'explorers' or 'journalists,' but they still don't have the same experience as an archaeologist

It’s frustrating, as a total layman, I have no academic knowledge of history past the age of 13, I have still been able to learn enough to know how humanity has evolved over the last 200,000 years, and recognise the expertise of archaeologists and anthropologists.
