I’ve been predicting this (and chasing off friends with my conversations) for decades. Although, in my conceit, I thought it would happen when I was younger…😒

The forest fire clears the way for new growth, and winter prepares for the spring. Unfortunately, devastation and suffering are inevitable for most of those living through the death throes of the old civilization.
