Dear journalists, if you're writing/publishing/broadcasting about the Los Angeles wildfires and you don't mention the role of #climate change, you're not doing your full job.

I do agree with that. I just don't like to see celebrities losses discounted. Billy Crystal and his wife lost their home of 47 years. They've lost a lifetime of memories.
I understand. Whislt most of my cherished memories survived, a lot of early (teen cadet) news reports, notes, photos etc did not and I do wish I still had them.
And there are many 'celebrities' who are decent folk too.
But, I'm referring more towards the guy requesting "private firefighters."
Hey reply ghouls why don't you stop fighting your fellow proles and recognize the real villain in this issue could, idk, maybe be the executive staff/board who actually call the shots and not the rank & file people who absolutely bust their asses doing a public service.
I wholeheartedly agree with the OP’s point, we need to communicate well, and I know this wasn’t the OP’s original idea, but I feel I need to do MY full job here: https://youtu.be/HvoVGQe7-V8?si=Wiw005soDHNa-mRf
Dear journalists, if you don’t mention a systemic a failure to regularly manage woodland fuel loads, collect and store water, upgrade water infrastructure, properly fund fire services and hire the relevant skill sets based on merit, you’re not doing your job.
Factors perhaps, but we have to be careful not to belittle climate change and its impact, it is and has been a fact for along time now, all experts agree.
Factors that are well within the control of well run state administrations, that are focused on the safety and security of their citizens, instead of blaming their collective failures on ‘climate change’.
This disaster could have been significantly mitigated if Newsom et al had done their jobs.

Rich celebs have 'plenty of coin' they can just buy another house, or three, or go to 1 of their other homes.
Those not-so-well-off however, who may not have insurance, who may have lost their homes. That's where the real reporting is.
Go find and report on the people who do not have a voice, who may not have insurance.
Celebrities can wait 'till later. Sure, it's fun and gets lots of eyeballs interviewing 'celebs' ...
And there are many 'celebrities' who are decent folk too.

Real journalists are agents of people who do not have a voice.
Since factcheckers will be unemployed soon maybe they can help
